Doulos Leadership Team:
The student leadership team is elected at the end of February and serves March to February every year. This team acts as the executive team of the UCM club at UBCO. They are here to serve the campus and help realize our mission on campus. A nickname we affectionately use for the team is the Greek word “Doulos”, which means servant slave; and is meant to describe the primary quality out of which our leadership team seeks to lead (Mark 10:43-45).
Core Group Leaders:
Core Groups are a place to belong and become more like Jesus. A Core Group is a group of 6-12 students led by two Core Group Leaders. On a weekly basis, our Core Group Leaders serve from September to April. They facilitate discussion on Scripture, encourage building relationships through engaging in social events with their Core Group, and initiate activities that allow their Core Group to serve the campus (Acts 2:42-47).
Core Groups will relaunch in September 2025. Our Core Group leaders will be posted on this page once Core Group schedule is determined for the next school year! For this months of May to August, we encourage you to connect with us through Summer UCM!.
Campus Ministers:
Our Campus Ministers make themselves available to the campus community for mentoring, pastoral care, and spiritual direction.
Pastor Josh Hufemia is our local Campus Ministry Director and oversees each ministry area of UCM at UBCO with the help of all the student leaders above. Grace Lou is our Campus Ministry Apprentice, doing a year of hands-on campus ministry training. She will be leading pastoral care to women, and assist in all areas of UCM’s on-campus ministry. Reverend James Perreaux, based in Kelowna, is UCM’s BC Regional Coordinator, overseeing all 7 UCM campuses in the province of British Columbia. James also acts as the Pentecostal Chaplain at UBCO (UNC 316).
