Join 200 students from campuses across BC for a weekend away to enjoy God’s presence and hangout together.

Enjoy Camp Squeahset in a beautiful valley near Hope, BC! The weekend is fun and designed to spiritually revitalize your soul.  Experience the beauty of God's creation, student led worship, inspiring speakers, comfortable accommodations, great food, while creating new and deeper friendships.

Our vision is that you would not only have a great weekend, but that you will “EMERGE” refreshed and empowered by the Spirit for life.

  • Squeah Main Lodge (8 Per Room) - $185 (plus Eventbrite fees)

  • Cabins (8 Per Room) - $160 (plus Eventbrite fees)

Note: Visit our Thursday Night worship gathering or a Core Group to pick up a $50 Discount Code for Early Bird registration.

ROOM ARRANGEMENTS

At registration, you will be asked if you have a preference for who you would like to stay with for the retreat. Please note this is a preference and we can’t guarantee you will be staying with the individual/individual’s you include.

WHAT TO BRING

Warm and casual clothing, toiletries, a towel, Bible, pen, and extra cash for travel food & an offering. Please take note of what bedding and linens you may need to bring in the next section. If they are not an option where you are staying, you will need to bring your own.

BEDDING & LINENS

Emory & Fraser: Bedding and linens are available for $20 per person.

Squeah Main Lodge: Does not include bedding or linens.

Cabins: Do not include bedding or linens.

TRANSPORTATION

At UCM-UBCO, we have hired a coach bus (with 48-seats) to drive us from the UBCO campus to Camp Squeah and return. We will be meeting at 4:00pm on Friday in G Lot (behind the Fine Arts building). Pack dinner or eat before hand. We will have a fuel stop, but not a dinner stop. The cost is FREE because we received a grant from the OPCS (Okanagan Pentecostal Camp Society). On Sunday, we will leave the camp by 11:30am, and stop for a lunch break in Merritt at TripleO's / Dairy Queen. We should arrive back at UBCO around 3:00pm.

MARK BUCHANAN

Speaking on Reconciliation

Mark and his wife Cheryl live in Cochrane, Alberta. He is an associate professor of Pastoral Theology at Ambrose Seminary. They have three adult children. Mark is a pastor, teacher, and speaker. He enjoys scuba diving, fishing, and motorcycles. He is the author of ten books, including most recently the novel David: Rise (Book One of trilogy on the life of King David), and God Walk: Moving at the Speed of Your Soul. He and Cheryl lead New Story Community, a ministry that promotes the flourishing of Indigenous women.

ANDY GABRUCH

Speaking on Infobesity

Andy Gabruch has been in ministry for over 17 years in urban, suburban, and rural contexts. He has worked with high school assemblies across Canada, city-wide youth forums, local governments, churches, national leadership boards, and speaks on culture, leadership, and ministry. He is currently a pastor of multiplication at Broadway Church in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He has a Masters's Degree in Leadership and Management and is working on his Doctorate at George Fox University. His focus is to raise the next generation of ministerial leaders. He is married to Annick and has four children.

KEVIN O’COIN

Speaking on Vocation

Kevin O’Coin is a graduate of ACTS Seminaries of Trinity Western University (Master of Divinity, ’09) and is currently at ACTS in the role of Assistant Director of Admissions. Kevin has served in pastoral ministry for eight years in Mennonite Brethren churches in Surrey and Winnipeg. He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry project at ACTS, related to best practices for helping prospective students discern their enrolment in seminary. He is married with one son.

What Should I do with my Life? Discerning God’s Call

It is easy to get overwhelmed when wondering about the direction of your life and what causes you to dedicate yourself to. This workshop describes the kinds of ways God calls and provides some reflective tools for how to figure out your unique calling.
