UCM CAMP RETREAT

Empower your University year with a weekend away!

Join us on this retreat to connect with God, make meaningful new friendships, and be equipped to live a Jesus-shaped life back on campus. 

Our UCM Camp Retreat is designed for newcomer students to plug into UCM quickly and make a load of new friends. Our goal is that you’ll leave this retreat inspired to be a disciple of Jesus and live on mission while at UBCO this year. 

You will experience epic icebreaker games, small group connections, worship by the campfire, morning times for solitude and prayer, eating s'mores and other delicious camp food, time to chill on the water or go for a hike, and most importantly, gain a greater understanding of the life Jesus is calling us to live in our context.

Guest Speaker: Sarah Marriott

Meet Sarah Marriott—wife, mom, and now a proud young grandma who insists that life only gets more fun with age. Sarah is a Regional Director for Young Life and, alongside her husband, has spent most of her life leading and mentoring teens and young adults. She loves good conversations over coffee, campfires that last late into the night, and any chance to make memories with friends new and old. At camp, Sarah is most excited to encourage others to lean into God’s presence and discover how deeply loved they are.

Topic: Wholesomely Holy

Over the weekend, Sarah will help us understand the meaning of sin, shalom, and holiness, teaching us how those in the early church understood and applied these concepts as they brought the message of Jesus to make disciples. We will examine stories from the lives of Paul, Timothy, and Philemon and how they demonstrated following Christ. We will be encouraged to learn from those examples and to live wholesomely holy lives when we get back to campus.

Lodging

We will be lodging in dorm-style cabins. Each cabin has a number of bunkbeds with mattresses. Be sure to bring your own pillow, warm bedding, towel and soap. On our registration form you'll be able to request any preferred roommates. The women’s dorm has bathrooms and showers attached. The men’s dorms will use the bathroom and showers located below the main dining hall.

Transportation

Meet in Parking Lot F on Friday at 5:30pm near the UNC Building. You are responsible for your own safe transportation to the camp. But in order to make sure everyone has a ride, please mark on your registration form if you are looking for a ride or if you are willing to provide a ride and how many spaces you have available according to the capacity of your vehicle and the permission of your license.
