THEME: On Purpose

We are made in the image of the One who made, loves, and is constantly at work in all parts of our world. As His people we are invited to work with Him in what He is doing: we have been made with purpose, on purpose.

GUEST SPEAKER: Darcy & Leanne McAlister

Darcy and Leanne serve on the Home team of PAOC’s International Missions. Darcy is the Director of Personnel and Family Life and leads a team who recruits, trains, and cares for global workers. Leanne coordinates ZOE Networks, a new initiative that disciples and develops Canadian women as leaders and connects them with the great work our global workers do with women overseas. They love to teach, preach, and do life together, and are passionate about seeing leaders thrive in all areas of life with Jesus at the centre. The McAlisters are based in Langley BC, and have 3 young adult children who all have married in the past year.

BREAKOUT SESSIONS:

Porn Trap (Sat 1:30pm)

David Minor is an SFU and UCM Alumni who is currently doing his Masters of Social Work at UBC. David is passionate about justice for those exploited in the sex industry as well as those trapped in porn addiction. He hopes to bring greater awareness to these issues in the Church to achieve healing and justice. David lives in Vancouver with his wife Andrea and Pug Toby and enjoys going for walks and practicing Jiu Jitsu.

Me? Evangelism? On Campus? (Sat 2:45pm)

Is Jesus speaking to you about sharing your faith, but you don’t know how? Join three UCM staff: Cal Weber (BCIT), Marissa Baskin (SFU) and Sara Boyd (UVIC), as they discuss how they have shared about Jesus on campus.

Student-Led Worship (Sat 4:00pm)

The student worship team from VIU in Nanaimo will be leading a workshop on how to lead worship on the university campus.

We have hired a coach bus (with 48-seats) to drive us from the UBCO campus to Camp Hope and return. We will be meeting at 4:00pm on Friday in front of F Lot. Pack dinner or eat before had. We will have a fuel stop, but not a dinner stop.

The bus will be parked in the taxi cab parking on University Way. You can hangout in the UNC until you see the bus. We will depart at 4:30pm sharp. The cost is FREE because we received a grant from the OPCS (Okanagan Pentecostal Camp Society).

On Sunday, we will leave the camp by 11:30am, and stop for a lunch break in Merritt at TripleO's / Dairy Queen. We should arrive back at UBCO around 3:00pm.
