There is a Prayer Room?

Yes, there is!

Head to the 3rd floor the UNC, turn right and then another right and you'll find Room 328. The prayer room is a multi-faith space overseen by the Wellness Centre and was created to welcome the diverse spiritual practices within our UBC O campus community.

UCM has booked regular prayer times throughout the week. Feel free to use the room for personal prayer times or to gather a few friends for a prayer or discipleship meeting.

  • Mondays 11:00am - 12:00pm
  • Tuesdays 11:00am - 12:00pm
  • Wednesdays 11:00am - 12:00pm
  • Wednesdays 3:30pm - 4:30pm
  • Thursdays 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Giving 2016

Each year students, alumni, and supporters of this ministry help us accomplish our goals by making financial donations. Would you consider setting aside a donation from your summer earnings towards this year UCM Club Budget?

A few of the expenses we are anticipating this year include:

  • $800 for Weekly Chair Set-up of UNC Ballroom
  • $2400 for a New Sound Mixer
  • $500 for Events
  • $500 for our Free Kick-off Bbq

This might seem like a lot of expenses to cover. But we are faithful that God will provide for all our needs. We were wondering if each UCM student would be willing to pray about an amount they might be able to give, could this entire budget be brought in by September? What amount do you think you could contribute? $50? $100? $200?

Let’s pray together and see how the Lord provides.

See our Giving page for details on how to give.

UCM AGM Election Results

Now that March has arrived, we are transitioning between leadership members and would like to announce the results from our AGM on February 20!

We would like to welcome Jessie Garcia, Daniel Kandie, Halle Thomas, and Victor Zhang to the Doulos team! They will be joining incumbents Andrew Beebe, Jane Corbett, and Morgan Janzen. Roles will be discerned in the coming weeks, so keep them in your prayers as they step up to the plate.

Thanks go out to Ellie Heuser, Natasha Peters, Rachael Peters, and Karl Petersohn for their faithfulness and servanthood during their time as part of the team.

PAOC Mission Opportunities

The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) are providing missions opportunities!

They offer short-term missions over the STM Network, which can range from leading a team for a few weeks to travelling for 2-12 months.

Long-term missions are also possible through them; they are looking for Canadians who have a passion for the Mission of God and feel called to live and minister overseas in a cross-cultural capacity. PAOC can provide resources and training for those who feel God is not calling them to any of their more urgent opportunities.

If either of these interest you, go on the PAOC site to find out how to apply!

Volunteer Opportunity - Ozanam Recovery House

Ozanam Recovery House, an 18-bed recovery home for men located in Kelowna, is in need of new members on its Board of Directors.

We proudly work in partnership with BC Housing Corporation, the Ministry of Social Development and Interior Health to provide affordable, supportive housing and rehabilitation to those in need.

Our Board of Directors (at full complement) consists of 12 members, including a 4 member Executive Committee. As a ‘working board’, we meet once a month, share our expertise and have the opportunity to directly touch the lives of the men who are in recovery.

This is a great opportunity for students to get some hands-on experience in the operation of a community service agency.
